About the Northeast Texas Trail
The longest trail in Texas, the Northeast Texas Trail (NETT) follows old Union Pacific and Chaparral railroad rights-of-way for 133 miles,
from just northeast of Dallas to within a few miles of Texarkana. The NETT passes through many
charming small towns and peaceful rural landscapes.
The trail is open and usable for cyclists, hikers, and horseback riders - at least in some sections.
Be prepared for possible rough conditions or blackages on some sections.
We have heard from recumbent trike riders who had issues getting through some of the bollards.
This website was built using data from Google Maps, MapMyRide, and other internet sources.
We cannot vouch for the condition or completeness of the trail.
There are some detours, as noted on
the NETT Trail map, due to damaged bridges.
There may be other blockages, detours, and missing sections of trail that are not reported in this website.
If you have first-hand experience on the trail and would like to share any route information with other trail users,
please
let us know.
